LG Hopes to Kill the iPhone Hype with Chocolate 3
In an effort to steal some of Apple's iPhone thunder this week, LG announced the launch of its new musically equipped phone, LG Chocolate 3, through Verizon Wireless.
The clamshell styled LG phone will support Verizon Wireless’ V CAST Music with Rhapsody subscription music service, so that users can take advantage of their favorite music tracks. Rhapsody subscribers will be able to fill up the phone's memory with plenty of tunes from the service's catalog of more than five million tracks.
The flip phone also supports standard MP3, WMA, and unprotected AAC file formats. The Chocolate 3 sports a built-in FM transmitter. It also supports Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, for full wireless stereo music enjoyment. A microSD card slot allows for ample storage, as well.
The LG Chocolate 3 supports Verizon's high-speed EV-DO network for a robust Internet experience, and also supported the carrier's VZ Navigator GPS navigation service. The Chocolate 3 also has a 2-megapixel camera with 2x zoom, Image Editor- to zoom, rotate and crop images, Mobile Email- access MSN Hotmail, AOL and Yahoo accounts to exchange e-mail, and Mobile IM capabilities.
The smartphone will be made available starting this week for the price of USD 179.99 with a two-year Verizon subscription contract. The phones will be available in black or light blue colors.
