Kodak Unleashes Easyshare Z1015 IS And M1093 IS Cameras

Kodak has introduced the latest addition to its Z-Series and M-series line of digital cameras - The Kodak Easyshare Z1015 IS and the Kodak Easyshare M1093 IS.

Featuring a 15x Schneider-Kreuznack Variogon optical zoom lens with image stabilization, the Kodak Easyshare Z1015 IS aims to offer a camera that can handle both long-distance and wide-angle shots. Kodak promises a click-to-capture speed of less than 0.22 seconds, and the Kodak Easyshare Z1015 comes equipped with a f/2.8 28mm wide-angle lens. To capture better photos in low light conditions, the camera offers an ISO range of 80 to 6400 (ISO 3200, 6400 available when shooting images at 3-megapixels or less).

It offers a range of advanced settings including program, aperture and shutter priority, as well as full manual mode (PASM). The camera also incorporates Kodak's Smart Capture feature, which adjusts the camera's settings automatically by identifying the scene.

On the other, claimed as an affordable camera, the M1093 IS camera is for the style conscious and includes easy features like the Smart Capture feature that identifies the scene and adjusts camera settings for any environment, automatically. Image stabilization and blur reduction technology reduces blur caused by camera shake, subject movement or fast-action situations.

This camera also shoots at 10 megapixels with sensor-shift stabilization but uses a shorter 3X zoom due to the thinner body. Kodak nonetheless promises an unusually high light sensitivity for a compact at ISO 3,200 and provides both dynamic scene adjustment based on the environment as well as face detection.

"Underneath its sleek exterior, the KODAK EASYSHARE M1093 IS Digital Camera is a powerhouse built to capture beautiful pictures," said John Blake, general manager Digital Capture and Devices, Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company. "The Smart Capture feature available on our latest digital cameras, including the M1093 IS, lets consumers capture moments that would have otherwise been missed, thanks to its intuitive and automatic scene detection and setting control."

The Kodak Easyshare Z1015 IS and the Kodak Easyshare M1093 IS will be available starting from the month of September 2008 at USD 350 and USD 200 respectively.
